The Railway Benefit Fund is the only UK charity that solely supports railway people and we have been doing so for over 150 years. We support current and past employees and their families when they need help through illness, injury, bereavement, or hard times. We offer financial help, as well as advice and referral services. The work we do enables us to act as a safety net and is vital in supporting the industry’s people. Nobody can predict the future, and offering that peace of mind within the industry is a charity that can help.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity specialising in finding preventions, treatments and a cure for dementia. It’s our aim to end the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia. We fund more research into dementia than any other UK charity and we have supported some of the most important dementia breakthroughs of the past 20 years.
Railway Mission was founded in 1881 and has been supporting rail staff for over 130 years. Building on this history our chaplains have the experience and understand of the both the industry and the pressures of modern life. Our chaplains are available to help railway and British Transport Police staff in good times and bad, regardless of their personal circumstance, beliefs or position in the industry. Our team is also available to assist the travelling public when needed.
We fight for children living on the streets.
Railway Children fight for vulnerable children who live alone at risk on the streets, where they suffer abuse and exploitation. In the UK, society often denies their existence, and in other countries the problem is so prevalent that it has become ‘normal’.
Our vision is for a world with good mental health for all.
Our mission is to help people understand, protect and sustain their mental health.
Prevention is at the heart of what we do, because the best way to deal with a crisis is to prevent it from happening in the first place.
